Mt. Carmel Evangelical Lutheran ChurchA Reconciling in Christ Congregation We warmly welcome all people regardless of race, |
Who We AreOur vision at Mt. Carmel is to share our relationship with Jesus by building loving inclusive relationships which nurture faith, healing, and forgiveness. Mt. Carmel is a church family with members who are single, married, young and not so young. We come from many walks of life and experience which makes for a rich blending of personalities making our life together interesting. Now, a picture is worth much more than words so feel free to take some time to get to know us through some photos. Below are several photogalleries to give you an idea of who we are. (More are coming.) Our Roots: A gallery of photos from 1953 until about 2001. Service of Remembrance
and Healing: Celebrated January 27, 2003 & July 28, 2003. These
photos were taken at the worship on July 28 (about the hottest day of the year
with temperatures around 100). This service is dedicated to all, military personnel
and civilians, who have experienced the effects of armed conflict. It was written
for the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Vietnam Peace Accord, January 27, 1973
- January 27, 2003, and the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Korean Armistice, July
27, 1953 - July 27, 2003. What do we do on our summer (and spring) "vacation" 2003? Here's a gallery of photos filled with Parties: Strawberry Festival (I did cheat here - these are last year's photos which include St. Andrew's Pipe and Drum serenading us), Projects: building a brick patio in our upper parking lot, Functions: using the new patio for outdoor worship (by the way, that's Pastor Fred Ruhnke who fills in for Pastor Ron occasionally), Fundraisers: putting on our annual Augustfest Rummage Sale which is where we raise money for our Burnside Meals and Jean's Meals ministries, and Worship: gathering back inside. Well, here's some new photos from our summer activities of 2005 (I think we only remember the camera during the summers). We had a fairly busy summer with several special services, a baptism and a 90+ birthday. Enjoy the photos.

And God formed and breathed life into humankind. Walking and talking with them. But the man and the woman sought fulfillment through other things. Things forbidden. And so God banished the betrayers of this trust into a broken world. A world of pain and sorrow and death.... Yet, God did not abandon humanity nor all the things brought into being. From before time and creation God set into motion the salvation of all creation and all humanity... Christ Jesus, the Word made flesh which dwells among us. Rejoice and be glad! God has come to save youlove youreclaim you! Lisa Frenz copywrite 2002
