Lutheran Community Services Northwest, Lutheran Community Services Northwest is a nonprofit human services agency serving communities throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
Their caring staff provides a wide variety of services to adults, adolescents, children, families, schools, businesses, congregations, neighborhoods and communities. Each year they serve more than 300,000 people of all ages, cultures and faiths.

Intersections (A Portland/Vancouver Area Young Adults Group) Intersections is a volunteer driven organization - that means we need people like YOU to give your input, get the word out, and continue the efforts of creating a Christ-centered young adult community.

Lutherans Concerned/North America stands as a community of faith, modeling the gospel with the church and within the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered communities. They seek to employ the Gospel's principles of inclusiveness and justice, celebrating God's gifts of sexuality and diversity. Mt. Carmel is a member of this organization's Reconciling in Christ program.

Portland Lutheran School (PLS) Mt. Carmel is a member church of PLS's governing/supporting organization, PLACE. Children of Mt. Carmel members can receive a tuition discount if they attend PLS.

Lutheran World Relief works with partners in 50 countries to help people grow food, improve health, strengthen communities, end conflict, build livelihoods and recover from disasters. Mt. Carmel supports their programs, particularly the LWR Coffee Project.

Peoplebank and Neighborhood House: Mt. Carmel is a member of Peoplebank which is a consortium of 26 congregations in the communities of southwest Portland that are dedicated to putting their faith into action. Through volunteers, food donations, monetary contributions and leadership support, Peoplebank is a valued partner with Neighborhood House in developing, supporting and delivering vital services to our neighbors in need.

Transition Projects: Mt. Carmel supports Transition Projects by making a mean for their Glisan Street Shelter once a month and their Women's Shelter, Jean's House, twice a month.

EMO (Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon) is a statewide association of 17 Christian denominations working with congregations, ecumenical and interfaith organizations, and people of faith to improve the quality of life for all Oregonians. Through community ministry, public policy advocacy, theological education and dialogue and environmental ministry, EMO participates in the collective task of building a just and compassionate world for all people.

SacredFlight: is a palliative music practice, offering vigils with harp and voice for end of life care. They serve patients in hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, and private residences in the greater Portland, Oregon area. Mt. Carmel has supported this organization in the past through the Music at the Mount concert/fundraisers and by sponsoring an informative workshop on music thanatology.

Beltaine: Celtic music band. The word "Beltaine" literally means "bright" or "brilliant fire." This group plays at our Music At The Mount concerts. They also have CD available.

Bethlehem Gifts: Through one of our members we have personal contact with this family of wood carvers in Bethlehem, Israel. Due to the troubles in that part of the world they have been suffering economically. We hope by encouraging people to purchase their products directly from them via the Internet to help this family stay employed and solvent.

Heifer Projects International: Mt. Carmel supports Heifer with donations through our Birthday Fund. Heifer animals (and training in their care) offer hungry families around the world a way to feed themselves and become self-reliant. Children receive nutritious milk or eggs; families earn income for school, health care and better housing; communities go beyond meeting immediate needs to fulfilling dreams. Farmers learn sustainable, environmentally sound agricultural techniques.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans: is a fraternal organization which operates through Mt. Carmel and others to provide financial security for its members and to encourage volunteerism. Over the years Thrivent (previously AAL and LB) has funneled thousands of dollars through our efforts to make a difference in our community.

Mt. Carmel a community dedicated to providing a safe and healing place for people to worship, grow and connect, not only to our community but to the wider world.
